No. 109 Cheese and Wine

Someone once told me “wine, crackers and cheese are the adult version of apple juice, graham crackers and string cheese.”

Seriously though, whenever I’m in need of comfort food, I can always rely on a great cheese and wine pairing to make me feel better.

This Ridgefield staple, is nestled in Copper Hill Commons alongside Russo’s and Ridgefield Prime (more on that later !) it’s an unassuming little shoppe but inside are so many foodie gifts and gourmet products, I didn’t know where to begin.

109 Cheese normally has samples; and let me tell you- they dole out the nice stuff.

Eating it honestly brought me back to summer and fall in Paris!

They also offer a pretty great menu – I ordered the Parisian. It’s a classic prosciutto, arugula, and gruyere combination in a French baguette. Although it looks unassuming, let me be the first to warn you that this little guy packs a serious flavor punch. The prosciutto is perfectly aged, the gruyere perfectly ripe, the arugula fresh.

Great ingredients do outweigh simple (and seemingly boring) concepts.

I am so happy to have found this little gen in Ridgefield and can’t wait to go back and do a review on their wine and perishable products line. Trust me, you’ll want to stop by here the next time you need to buy a gift for your favorite foodie.

How cute is the shop’s decor??!

I need to buy everything !

What’s your favorite cheese shop?
