Summer Pairings 2016: Bucket List

This 90 degree weather isn’t giving up on summer, and neither should we! Al fresco dining, rooftop bars, refreshing menus; summer dining is all about enjoying the outdoors – especially if you’re used to the chilly weather in the Northeast!  This bucket list celebrates my favorite summer pairing – food & travel!

Atlanta

To Do: Piedmont Park Arts Festival

Pair With: One Midtown Kitchen – New American menu that will keep those creative juices flowing as you munch on craft beers, delightful entrees, and innovative desserts.

To Do: Jog (Walk or Bike!) the Beltline

Pair WithKrog Street Market – This huge indoor market has some of the most eclectic food, this side of Buford Highway.   Top that with bike parking and this little pit-stop, will make you happy that you worked out before binging on authentic Chinese, new American, and other fun, hip eateries.

Boston

To Do: Walk the Freedom Trail

Pair With: Monica’s, Nico’s or Strega – Since you’ll be walking right through the delicious neighborhood of the North End, you really can’t go wrong with any of these little Italian restaurants, but our favorite choices (aka you can always get a seat & great service).

To Do: Catch a Ball Game at Fenway

Pair With: Baseball Tavern – This outdoor venue is the perfect place to pre-game without spending $17 on a Bud Light.

Fairfield County

To Do: Alive @ Five (Stamford)

Pair WithCask Republic – want to be walking distance from Hanson, CeeLo Green, or Third Eye Blind and don’t feel like standing in a ridiculous line or crowded dive bar? Cask Republic is the perfect answer; fill yourself up with delicious Korean-style wings and wash it down with a whiskey, bourbon, or cognac.

To Do: Romantic Bike Ride around town (Rowayton)

Pair With: The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood – after this hour long bike ride with that special someone, you’ll be craving a satisfying but not too heavy meal (after all, you’ll bike back, right?) Stop by this romantic waterside restaurant for amazing lobster rolls, oysters, and even crab croquettes at this local gem.

New York

To Do: Walk the High Line

Pair With: The Standard Biergarten – After soaking up the rays, you might wish you were chowing down on a schniztel and beer, well, look no further!

To Do: Spend the day at South Street Seaport

Pair With: Trading Post – Continuing with the nautical theme, stop here for dollar oysters on Mondays!
